This page is going to contain some lists of eight things I would take to a desert island with me, as known from the BBC programme (supported by the magical properties of the number 8 on discworld). Or, to be more practical, that I'd take on an international move with limited transport space. Lists are sorted alphabetically and will be updated from time to time when my tastes change (which they do quite often, to be honest). I might dabble more with actual pages and CSS and stuff, but for now this is going to be just a page with words on it that do nothing fancy at all. Most of the lists should contain a bit of info about the reasons for my choices, but, well, I don't want to promise too much. Every list is sorted alphabetically, but still numbered so I don't lose track.

1. Toshiko Akiyoshi - Toshiko Plays Billy Strayhorn
I don't even remember exactly how I found "Take the A-Train", but I think after I bought my Real Book I just thought 'Hey, I like public transport, that title sounds nice'. But I soon bought and read the Billy Strayhorn biography by David Hajdu, found this record in an online shop and have been listening to it almost daily ever since.
